Spain offers to help Greta Thunberg make carbon-free trip to Madrid

The Spanish government says it is willing to help teen environmental activist Greta Thunberg cross the Atlantic Ocean in time to attend a United Nations climate conference in Madrid after it was relocated from Chile.But the clock is ticking. We would love to help you to cross the Atlantic back.’Spain’s Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez, suggested his capital city host the UN’s COP25 conference aimed at reducing global carbon emissions and combating climate change.The event was initially scheduled to be held in Santiago between December 2 and 13.But Chile has been paralyzed for weeks by massive protests that were sparked by a proposed 3 per cent hike in subway fares.At least 18 people have died and more than 7,000 have been arrested as millions have poured into the streets demanding the government address economic inequality.
