Los Angeles & Las Vegas 2019

Here’s my little Travelvlog from our Trip to Los Angeles & Las Vegas this year. Please be kind, it’s my first vlog! Enjoy it & leave your comments, if you like 🙂

I also wanted to share our costs during this trip, if you want to do the same & need some tips. We definately aren’t rich or have any other advantages during travelling, so we have to look for low cost options. But before you travel to L.A., you have to know: It isn’t cheap! But which big City in the U.S. is?! And if you plan this trip from over seas, you definately have to save some money first.

Flights:
We booked our flights directly with Lufthansa during Sale, so we really got some cheap tickets. Look out for them, if you want to do a long-distance flight, because it’s really worth it. We used kayak.com to find the best prices. We payed 500€/560$ per Person, which included baggage, seating and our trainticket to Frankfurt. And direct-flights of course!

Our house:
We booked our house via airbnb. We wanted to have a place a little bit outside the city, where it would be quiet and where we could return everyday and get the rest we needed after all the impressions. The house was in Sherman Oaks, which was perfect, because it wasn’t far away from everything (the Universal Studios were a 10 Minute Ride) but it was also a really safe and pretty neighborhood. We loved the house and everything about it!

We payed 1200€ (ca. 1350$) for 8 nights, which is normal for L.A. if you want a normal standard, I guess.
With the house we had the option of cooking & own breakfast every morning, so you can save some money by not eating out.

AirBNB: www.airbnb.com (I don’t know if it’s ok if I post the direct link to the house, but you can find it easily there)

Car (Ford Mustang Cabrio):
We booked our car via Expedia. The cheapest price was with Budget Car Rental. We payed 327€ (ca. 366$) for 8 Days. With optional insurance (which we booked to be safe if anything happens) we payed ca. 400€/447$. Be aware that parking is really expensive in L.A., if you want to go to the City. So for some places like the Universal Studios (where parking is 27$ for one Day!!) or the Hollywood Blvd., we would recommend to take an Uber or Lyft. Just look up which is cheaper.

Hotels in Las Vegas:
We stayed in two different Hotels to explore the differences between a Hotel on the Strip and one not on the Strip.

In the first night we stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The Hotel was the coolest & the Pool was really impressive. The room was huge & quiet and the bed was really comfy.

In the second night, after our trip to the Grand Canyon, we stayed at the Excalibur Hotel & Casino. It was also really great, but not as
luxurious as the HRH. The Casino had more options & the Hotel looked great with the Castle-Design.

We booked via booking.com, which has always a great deal for us, as we have the Genius Level.

We payed ca. 200€/225$ for the 2 Nights including the resort fees.

Attractions:
We visited the following attractions during our trip: Universal Studios, Disneyland, Warner Bros. Studios, Tour through Malibu, Hikes through Hollywood Hills. From Las Vegas we took a Bustrip to the Route 66 and the Grand Canyon.

We booked the Go Los Angeles Pass, where everything except for Disneyland and the Grand Canyon, was included. You can choose the number of days you want to use it and you can do all the Attractions from the list within these Days.

We booked it for 3 Days and payed ca. 200€/230$ per Person. Disneyland was 130€/150$ per Person and parking was also 20$ additional for one Day. Disneyland usually is really expensive, but everytime it’s worth it. With the Go Los Angeles Card we saved some Money on the Attractions, which we could use for Disneyland later 😉 The Trip to the Grand Canyon was 90€/100$ per Person, which was also really worth it.If you do a trip like that, the Grand Canyon is a Must-See!
